Operation started in 1854. The building has been abandoned since 1987. The Henrichshütte iron and steel mill has been founded in the 1864. During the best times of this facility more than 10,000 men and women were employed here. In order to be able to use the full capacity of this plant for the construction of a new sintering plant the river Ruhr has been moved.
